She studied French and Spanish at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague. Beginning in 1982 she began teaching at the Institute of Roman Studies, Faculty of Arts of Charles University, and since 1990 she is a lecturer of Spanish and Latin American Literature. Since 1994 she is also a lecturer at the University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice. Between 1990-2001 she was Director of the Institute for Studies in Roman Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague. In 2003 she was awarded by The Order of Isabella the Catholic for the spreading of Spanish culture. In her work as a translator and teacher she is dedicated primarily to Spanish-American literature (modernism of the late 19th and early 20th, the avant-garde poetry, science fiction, new novel).
